No. The painting is in Madrid, at the Museo Reina Sofía. Picasso painted it in Paris in response to the 1937 bombing and it was shown at the Spanish pavilion of that year's Paris International Exposition — it has never hung in the town it is named after. On 26 April 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, the town was bombed from the air by the Condor Legion of Nazi Germany and the Aviazione Legionaria of Fascist Italy, acting in support of Franco's Nationalist forces. An oak beside the Casa de Juntas, the assembly house that is the seat of one of the oldest parliamentary traditions in Europe. The coast is at its best, the headland is far less crowded than a July or August weekend, and the walk up is much more pleasant without midday summer heat on unshaded stone.
